¹THIS is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God created he him; ²Male and female he created them; and God blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created.

³And Adam lived 130 years, and begot a son in his own likeness, after his image; and called his name Seth; ⁴And Adam lived after he had begotten Seth 800 years; and he begot sons and daughters. ⁵Thus all the days that Adam lived were 930 years, and he died.

⁶And Seth lived 105 years, and begot Enosh; ⁷And Seth lived after he begot Enosh 807 years, and begot sons and daughters; ⁸And all the days of Seth were 912 years, and he died.

⁹And Enosh lived 90 years, and begot Cainan; ¹⁰And Enosh lived after he begot Cainan 815 years, and begot sons and daughters; ¹¹And all the days of Enosh were 905 years, and he died.

¹²And Cainan lived 70 years, and begot Mahlalael; ¹³And Cainan lived after he begot Mahlalael 840 years, and begot sons and daughters; ¹⁴And all the days of Cainan were 910 years, and he died.

¹⁵And Mahlalael lived 65 years, and begot Jared; ¹⁶And Mahlalael lived after he begot Jared 830 years, and begot sons and daughters. ¹⁷And all the days of Mahlalael were 895 years, and he died.

¹⁸And Jared lived 162 years, and he begot Enoch: ¹⁹And Jared lived after he begot Enoch 800 years, and begot sons and daughters; ²⁰And all the days of Jared were 962 years, and he died.

²¹And Enoch lived 65 years, and begot Methuselah; ²²And Enoch found favor in the presence of God 300 years after he begot Methuselah, and begot sons and daughters; ²³And all the days of Enoch were 365 years; ²⁴And Enoch found favor in the presence of God, and disappeared; for God took him away.

²⁵And Methuselah lived 187 years, and begot Lamech; ²⁶And Methuselah lived after he begot Lamech 782 years, and begot sons and daughters; ²⁷And all the days of Methuselah were 969 years, and he died.

²⁸And Lamech lived 182 years, and begot a son; ²⁹And he called his name Noah, saying, This one will comfort us concerning our work and the toil of our hands, because of the ground which Yahvah has cursed. ³⁰And Lamech lived after he begot Noah 595 years, and begot sons and daughters. ³¹Thus all the days of Lamech were 777 years, and he died.

³²And Noah was 500 years old, and Noah begot Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
