YOU, Oh Son of man, also take a brick and lay it before you, and draw on it the outline of the city of Jerusalem;
And lay siege against it, and build forts against it, and cast a mount against it; and also set some camps against it, and around it set battering rams against it.
Moreover take an iron pan, and set it for an iron wall between you and the city; and set your face against it, and it will be besieged, and you will lay siege against it. This is a sign to the house of Israel.
Then lie on your left side, and lay the iniquity of the house of Israel on that side; according to the number of days that you will lie on it, you will bear their iniquity.
For I have given you 2 tasks of iniquities, according to the number of the days, 390 days; so you will bear the iniquity of the house of Israel.
And when you have completed them, you will lie again on your right side, and you will bear the iniquity of the house of Judah 40 days; I have appointed you each day for a year.
Therefore you will set your face towards the siege of Jerusalem, and your arm will prevail, and you will prophesy against it.
And look, I have laid chains on you, and you will not turn from one side to another until you have completed the days of your siege.
And take for yourself wheat and barley, beans and lentils, millet and rye, and put them in one vessel, and make for yourself bread of them; according to the number of days that you will lie on your side, 390 days, you will eat of it. 10And your food which you will eat will be by weight, 20 shekels a day; from time to time you will eat it. 11And you will drink water by measure, 1/6th part of a hin; from time to time you will drink. 12And you will eat it as if you ate barley cakes, having baked it in their sight with the dung that comes out of men. 13And Yahvah said, Thus the children of Israel will eat their bread unclean among the Gentiles, where I will drive them. 14Then I said, Ah Yahvah God. Look, I have never defiled myself; not from my youth even up until now, I have not eaten that which dies by itself nor is torn in pieces by wild animals; nor has unclean meat entered into my mouth. 15Then he said to me, Look, I have given you oxen's dung instead of men's dung, that you will bake your bread with it. 16Moreover, he said to me, Son of man, look, I will break the staff of bread in Jerusalem; and they will eat bread by weight; and when thirsty, they will drink water by measure; 17And they will lack bread and water, and they will perish one with another, and will be consumed in their iniquity.
