¹NOW these are the boundaries of the tribes: From the north end, by the way of Hithron which is at the entrance of Hamath and of Khazarenan, the border of Damascus northward to the border of Hamath; these are its sides east and west, a portion for Dan. ²And by the border of Dan, from the east side to the west side, a portion for Asher. ³And by the border of Asher, from the east side to the west side, a portion for Naphtali. ⁴And by the border of Naphtali, from the east side to the west side, a portion for Manasseh. ⁵And by the border of Manasseh, from the east side to the west side, a portion for Reuben. ⁶And by the border of Reuben, from the east side to the west side, a portion for Ephraim. ⁷And by the border of Ephraim, from the east side to the west side, a portion for Judah. ⁸And by the border of Judah, from the east side to the west side, will be the portion which you will set apart, 25,000 cubits in width, and in length the same as one of the other portions, from the east side to the west side; and the sanctuary will be in the middle of it. ⁹And the portion of the land which you will set apart for Yahvah will be 25,000 cubits in length and 10,000 in breadth. ¹⁰And for the priests will be the holy portion; toward the north 25,000 cubits in length, and toward the west 10,000 cubits in breadth, and toward the east 10,000 cubits in breadth, and toward the south 25,000 cubits in length; and the sanctuary of Yahvah will be in the middle of it. ¹¹It will be for the priests that are consecrated of the descendants of Zadok; who have kept my charge, who did not go astray as the children of Israel went astray and as the Levites went astray. ¹²And this portion will be their portion out of the land which is set aside, the most holy by the border of the Levites. ¹³And opposite the border of the priests the Levites will have a portion 25,000 cubits in length, and 10,000 in breadth: all their land will be 25,000 cubits in length and 10,000 cubits in breadth. ¹⁴And they will not sell any of it, nor exchange it, nor do away with the tithes of the land; for it is holy to Yahvah. ¹⁵And the 5,000 cubits that are left in the breadth over against the 25,000 cubits will be common ground for the use of the city, for dwelling and for suburbs; and the city will be in the middle of it. ¹⁶And these will be its dimensions: the north side 4,500 cubits, the east side 4,500 cubits, the south side 4,500 cubits, and the west side 4,500 cubits. ¹⁷And the suburbs of the city will be toward the north 250 cubits and toward the south 250 cubits and toward the east 250 cubits and toward the west 250 cubits. ¹⁸And the remainder of the land opposite the holy portion will be 10,000 eastward and 10,000 westward; and it will be opposite the holy portion; and its produce will be for food to those who work for the city. ¹⁹And those who work for the city will be recruited out of all the tribes of Israel. ²⁰The whole portion which is set aside will be 25,000 by 25,000; you will separate the holy portion from the possession of the city. ²¹And the remainder will be for the ruler of the city, on one side and on the other of the holy portion and of the possession of the city, opposite the 25,000 cubits toward the east border, and westward 25,000 cubits toward the west border, opposite the portion for the ruler; and it will be the holy portion; and the sanctuary of the temple will be in its middle. ²²Moreover, part of the possession of the Levites and of the possession of the city will be the portion of the ruler in the city, between the border of Judah and the border of Benjamin. ²³As for the rest of the tribes, from the east side to the west side, Benjamin will have a portion. ²⁴And by the border of Benjamin, from the east side to the west side, Simeon will have a portion. ²⁵And by the border of Simeon, from the east side to the west side, Issachar a portion. ²⁶And by the border of Issachar, from the east side to the west side, Zebulun a portion. ²⁷And by the border of Zebulun, from the east side to the west side, Gad a portion. ²⁸And by the border of Gad, at the south side southward, the border will be from Tamar to the waters of Maribath in Kadesh, and his possession will extend as far as the great sea. ²⁹This is the land which you will divide for a heritage to the tribes of Israel, and these are their portions, says Yahvah God. ³⁰And these will be the limits of the city: on the north side, 4,500 measures.

³¹And the gates of the city will be after the names of the tribes of Israel: 3 gates on the north side; one gate for Reuben, one gate for Judah, one gate for Levi. ³²And at the east side 4,500 measures; and 3 gates: one gate for Joseph, one gate for Benjamin, one gate for Dan. ³³And at the south side 4,500 measures; and 3 gates: one gate for Simeon, one gate for Issachar, one gate for Zebulun. ³⁴At the west side 4,500 measures; and 3 gates: one gate for Gad, one gate for Asher, and one gate for Naphtali. ³⁵And the circumference of the city will be 18,000 measures; and the name of the city was given by Yahvah from the day that it was built.
