2007-01-16: Moses at the Burning Bush

This prophetic date derives from the story of the burning bush, found in the Book of Exodus.

There were at least 3 major parts to the fulfillment of this story. In the sky, and running for several weeks on either side of this date was Comet McNaught. In Washington DC, the United States Capital building was evacuated over a bomb scare. At the same time, the newly sworn in United Nations General Secretary Ban Ki-moon was holding his first formal visit with United States President George Bush.

Detailed timing and associated scripture is presented that the bottom of this article.

Comet McNaught

Part I: Comet McNaught

Comet McNaught had been discovered in August of 2006. It was a very short time between that discovery and the time when it was visible to the naked eye on earth. This short lead time suggests the scientific community is not particularly able to spot these objects with enough lead time to deflect any found pointed at earth.

Curiously, the comet was discovered at an observatory in the Australian outback, or bush in keeping with the comet’s role as the burning bush that would not burn up. It visible at first in the northern hemisphere and then later in the southern hemisphere and like all major comet this was a comet that many people simply had to go see, about like how Moses had to go see the sight of the fire of the burning bush.

The comet reached maximum visibility on January 14, 2006, after having crossed into the southern hemisphere on January 12, 2006. This is 2 days ahead of the theoretical prophetic date, well within tolerance. This maximum brightness belies the unusual feature of this comet, an exceptionally long tail that crossed much of the sky and again became visible from the northern hemisphere.

Many noted how the tail looked like a sword. Many also noted how comets are thought to portend doom...

There is some chance that this comet marks some sort of beginning, it is here at the burning bush story that the Book of Exodus settles down to the narrative of Moses’ adult life and this comet marks that time. If this is a beginning, then there is either a 50 year period that starts at this date, in keeping with the original 50 years that the Exodus took in Moses’ time. Or, the comet suggests another comet will bracket this time. If so, comet Apophis in 2029, 50 days after the exact 7000th anniversary of Noah’s flood is an excellent candidate for the other end of this same time.

US Capital Building

Part II: US Capital Building Evacuated

The evening news across the United States was filled with strange sites from the United States capital building. Strange noises had been heard in an area around a dumpster in a parking garage connected to the capital complex. For fear of a terrorist event the building was evacuated as a precaution, ending the day’s activities.

Moses’ burning bush story includes an interesting feature. Moses is told to take of his sandals for the place where he was standing was holy ground.

The evacuation was a match to Moses removing his shoes.

This may imply that at some point later in the plague series, that in many ways begin this day, that congress will be sent home permanently as they were temporarily here. Egypt was raised up for a specific purpose, that was to deliver God's people in a great deliverance.

Ban Ki-moon visits George W. Bush

Part III: Visit with Bush

The highlight of the prophetic day was Ban Ki-moon’s visit to United States President George Bush at the White House in Washington DC.

As happens so often in the prophetic stories, the name of President Bush is found directly in the story. President Bush is the bush that Moses went to visit.

Of course the capital complex was evacuated before the meeting, the shoes were removed, and now it was time for the big event. The public record of the meeting is mostly pleasantries, with no obvious linkage to the prophetic stories.

The Press Release of the meeting was issued at 2:00 PM in Washington DC, less than 4 hours from the theoretical time.

Part IV: Barack Obama Announces Candidacy

At 11:00 AM Eastern Time, Obama held a telephone conference call with his financial supporters stating his plan to "formally" announce his candidacy on February 10, 2007. His statement is here. This is earlier than the public would record the event since the folks on the call would pay for the stadium rental on February 10, 2008.

This is only 20 minutes from the theoretical time for this plague date, a stunning match. It marks the man who would become the replacement Pharaoh after George Bush.

Barack Obama will become both the replacement Pharaoh and an embodiment of several of the plagues on Egypt itself.

Conclusion

This prophetic cluster of events was a home run. The day-for-a-year time line has been relatively quiet and headlines have not been this dramatic for some time.

This story, more than the earlier ones involving Ban Ki-moon, help establish him as the prophetic end-times Moses.

This single prophetic date ends with text involving Moses’ visit with the king of Egypt. This helps link George Bush to the Pharaoh figure for the rest of the plagues and it helps establish the United States as the prophetic, end-times Egypt.

Obama's timing is also remarkable. The man who would replace Pharaoh to become the next pharaoh also announces his candidacy.

Exodus 2:23-48
23And it came to pass after a long time that the king of Egypt died; and the children of Israel groaned because of severe oppression, and they prayed, and their cry came up to God because of severe oppression.
24And God heard their groaning, and God remembered his contract with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob.
25And God looked on the children of Israel, and God noticed their oppression.

1Now Moses was feeding the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian; and he led the flock to the desert and came to the mountain of God, even to Horeb.
2And the angel of Yahvah appeared to him in a flame of fire out of the middle of a bush; and he looked, and saw the bush was on fire, and the bush was not consumed.
3And Moses said, I will turn aside and see this great sight, why the bush is not burned.
4And when Yahvah saw that he turned aside to see, God called to him out of the middle of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here I am.
5And he said, Do not draw near; take your shoes off your feet for the place where you are standing is holy ground.
6He also said, I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look at God.

7And Yahvah said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people who are in Egypt, and I have heard their cry because of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows;
8and I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land to a good and large land, to a land flowing with milk and honey; to the land of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites.
9Look now, the cry of the children of Israel has come to me; and I have also seen the oppression with which the Egyptians oppress them.
10Now come and I will send you to Pharaoh, that you may bring forth my people, the children of Israel, out of Egypt.
11And Moses said to God, Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh, and that I should bring the children of Israel out of Egypt?
12And God said to him, I will be with you; and this will be a sign to you that I have sent you: when you have brought forth the people out of Egypt, you will worship God on this mountain.

13And Moses said to God, Look, when I go to the children of Israel and say to them, The God of your fathers has sent me to you; and they say to me, What is his name? What will I say to them?
14And God said to Moses, I Am who I Am; and he said, You will say to the children of Israel: I Am has sent me to you.
15And God also said to Moses, Thus you will say to the children of Israel: Yahvah God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you; this is my name forever, and this is my memorial to all generations.
16Go and gather the elders of Israel together, and say to them, Yahvah God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob, appeared to me saying, I have surely remembered you and seen what is done to you in Egypt;
17and I have said, I will bring you up out of the affliction of the Egyptians to the land of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites, to a land flowing with milk and honey.
18And they will listen to your voice; and you and the elders of Israel will go to the king of Egypt, and you will say to him, Yahvah God of the Hebrews has appeared to us; and now let us go 3 days' journey into the wilderness that we may sacrifice to Yahvah our God.
