The CEO of MF Global was Jon Corzine, the former CEO of Goldman as well as former governor for the state of New Jersey.
The firm had failed to keep separate client money from firm money, a criminal act. It may have unintended consequences in that other clients of investment banks can no longer trust those banks either.
