2 Exodus 1:1-23
¹These are the names of the children of Israel, who came into Egypt; every man and his house came with Jacob:
²Reuben, Simeon, Levi, and Judah,
³Issachar, Zebulun, and Benjamin,
⁴Dan, and Naphtali, Gad, and Asher.
⁵And all the persons that came out of the loins of Jacob were 70 persons; for Joseph was in Egypt already.
⁶And Joseph died, and all his brothers, and all that generation.
⁷And the children of Israel were fruitful and increased abundantly, and multiplied and grew exceedingly strong; and the land was filled with them.

⁸Now there rose up a new king over Egypt who did not know Joseph.
⁹And he said to his people, Look, the people of the children of Israel are more numerous and stronger than we;
¹⁰come, let us deal wisely with them, before they multiply, lest when we chance to be at war, they will be added to our enemies, and fight against us, and drive us out of the land.
¹¹Therefore they appointed over them cruel taskmasters to afflict them with burdens. And for Pharaoh they built cities with storehouses, Pithom and Raamses.
¹²But the more they oppressed them, the more they multiplied and became strong. And the Egyptians were grieved because of the children of Israel.
¹³So the Egyptians oppressed the children of Israel severely;
¹⁴and they made their lives bitter with hard labor, in mortar and in bricks and in all manner of work in the field; all their service in which they made them serve was with rigor.

¹⁵And the king of Egypt spoke to the Hebrew midwives, of whom the name of the one was Puah and the name of the other Shoprah;
¹⁶and he said to them, When you perform your duties as midwives to the Hebrew women, look out when they kneel to deliver; if it is a male, then you must kill him; but if it is a female, then let her live.
¹⁷But the midwives feared God, and did not do as the king of Egypt commanded them, but let the boys live.
¹⁸So the king of Egypt called for the midwives and said to them, Why have you done this thing, and let the boys live?
¹⁹And the midwives said to Pharaoh, The Hebrew women are not like the Egyptian women; for they themselves are midwives, and are delivered before a midwife comes to them.
²⁰Therefore God dealt well with the midwives, because they spared the males; and the people multiplied, and grew exceedingly strong.
²¹And it came to pass, because the midwives feared God, he blessed them with families.
²²And Pharaoh charged all the people saying, Every son that is born you will cast into the river, and every daughter you will let live.

¹And a man from the house of Levi went and took as his wife a daughter of the house of Levi.
²And the woman conceived and bore a son; and when she saw that he was a handsome boy, she hid him for 3 months.

2 Exodus 2:3-10
³And when she could no longer hide him, she took for herself an ark made of acacia wood, and daubed it with slime and with pitch, and put the child into it; and laid it among the reeds by the river's bank.
⁴And his sister stood far away, to know what would happen to him.
⁵And the daughter of Pharaoh came down to bathe in the river; and her maids walked along by the river's side; and when she saw the ark among the reeds, she sent her maids to fetch it.
⁶And when she had opened it, she saw the child; and look, the baby was weeping. And she had compassion on him, and said, This is one of the Hebrews' children.
⁷Then his sister said to Pharaoh's daughter, Should I go for you and call a nurse of the Hebrew women, that she may nurse this child for you?
⁸And Pharaoh's daughter said to her, Go. And the girl went and called the child's mother.
⁹And Pharaoh's daughter said to her, Take this child away and nurse him for me, and I will give you your wages. So the woman took the child and nursed him.
¹⁰And the child grew, and she brought him to Pharaoh's daughter, and he became her son. And she called his name Moses; for she said, I drew him out of the water.

2 Exodus 2:11-12
¹¹And it came to pass in those days, when Moses was grown up, that he went out among his brothers, and saw their oppression; and he saw an Egyptian beating a Hebrew, one of his brothers of the children of Israel.
¹²And he looked this way and that way, and when he saw that there was no man watching, he slew the Egyptian and hid him in the sand.

2 Exodus 2:13-15
¹³And when he went out the 2nd day, he looked, and saw 2 Hebrew men were quarreling together; and he said to him who did the wrong, Why do you beat your fellow?
¹⁴And he replied, Who made you a prince and a judge over us? Do you intend to kill me, as you killed the Egyptian yesterday? And Moses was afraid, and said, Surely this thing is known.
¹⁵Now when Pharaoh heard this thing, he sought to slay Moses. But Moses fled from the presence of Pharaoh, and went to the land of Midian; and he sat down by a well.

2 Exodus 2:23-48
²³And it came to pass after a long time that the king of Egypt died; and the children of Israel groaned because of severe oppression, and they prayed, and their cry came up to God because of severe oppression.
²⁴And God heard their groaning, and God remembered his contract with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob.
²⁵And God looked on the children of Israel, and God noticed their oppression.

¹Now Moses was feeding the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian; and he led the flock to the desert and came to the mountain of God, even to Horeb.
²And the angel of Yahvah appeared to him in a flame of fire out of the middle of a bush; and he looked, and saw the bush was on fire, and the bush was not consumed.
³And Moses said, I will turn aside and see this great sight, why the bush is not burned.
⁴And when Yahvah saw that he turned aside to see, God called to him out of the middle of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here I am.
⁵And he said, Do not draw near; take your shoes off your feet for the place where you are standing is holy ground.
⁶He also said, I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look at God.

⁷And Yahvah said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people who are in Egypt, and I have heard their cry because of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows;
⁸and I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land to a good and large land, to a land flowing with milk and honey; to the land of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites.
⁹Look now, the cry of the children of Israel has come to me; and I have also seen the oppression with which the Egyptians oppress them.
¹⁰Now come and I will send you to Pharaoh, that you may bring forth my people, the children of Israel, out of Egypt.
¹¹And Moses said to God, Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh, and that I should bring the children of Israel out of Egypt?
¹²And God said to him, I will be with you; and this will be a sign to you that I have sent you: when you have brought forth the people out of Egypt, you will worship God on this mountain.

¹³And Moses said to God, Look, when I go to the children of Israel and say to them, The God of your fathers has sent me to you; and they say to me, What is his name? What will I say to them?
¹⁴And God said to Moses, I Am who I Am; and he said, You will say to the children of Israel: I Am has sent me to you.
¹⁵And God also said to Moses, Thus you will say to the children of Israel: Yahvah God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you; this is my name forever, and this is my memorial to all generations.
¹⁶Go and gather the elders of Israel together, and say to them, Yahvah God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob, appeared to me saying, I have surely remembered you and seen what is done to you in Egypt;
¹⁷and I have said, I will bring you up out of the affliction of the Egyptians to the land of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites, to a land flowing with milk and honey.
¹⁸And they will listen to your voice; and you and the elders of Israel will go to the king of Egypt, and you will say to him, Yahvah God of the Hebrews has appeared to us; and now let us go 3 days' journey into the wilderness that we may sacrifice to Yahvah our God.

2 Exodus 3:19-41
¹⁹And I know that the king of Egypt will not let you go, except by force.
²⁰And I will stretch out my hand and strike the Egyptians with all kinds of wonders which I will do among them; and after that Pharaoh will let you go.
²¹And I will give this people favor in the sight of the Egyptians; and it will come to pass that, when you go, you will not go empty-handed;
²²but every woman will borrow of her neighbor and of her that stays in her house, jewels of silver and jewels of gold and clothes; and you will put them on your sons, and on your daughters; and you will despoil the Egyptians.

¹And Moses answered and said, But, look, they will not believe me, nor listen to my voice; for they will say, Yahvah has not appeared to you.
²And Yahvah said to him, What is that in your hand? He said, A staff.
³And Yahvah said, Cast it on the ground. And he cast it on the ground, and it became a serpent; and Moses fled from before it.
⁴And Yahvah said to Moses, Put forth your hand and take it by the tail. And he put forth his hand and caught it, and it became a staff in his hand;
⁵This is done that they may believe that Yahvah God of their fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has appeared to you.
⁶And Yahvah said furthermore to him, Now put your hand into your chest. And he put his hand into his chest; and when he took it out, look, his hand was leprous, as white as snow.
⁷Then Yahvah said to him, Put your hand back into your chest again. And he put his hand back into his chest; and when he took it out of his chest, look, it was clean like his other flesh.
⁸And if they will not believe you, nor listen to the voice of the 1st sign, they will believe the voice of the latter sign.
⁹And if they also will not believe these 2 signs, nor listen to your voice, you will take some of the water of the river and pour it on the dry land; and the water which you take from the river will become blood on the dry land.

¹⁰And Moses said to Yahvah, I beg you, my Master, I am not eloquent, not previously nor since you spoke to your servant; for I am a stutterer and slow of speech.
¹¹Yahvah said to him, Who has made man's mouth? Who makes the mute, or the deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? Is it not I, Yahvah?
¹²Now go and I will be with your mouth and teach you what you will speak.
¹³And Moses said to him, My Master, I beg you, send by the hand of whomever you will send.
¹⁴And the anger of Yahvah kindled against Moses, and he said to him, Look, Aaron, your brother, the Levite. I know that he is a good speaker, and also, look, he will come out to meet you, and when he sees you, he will be glad in his heart.
¹⁵And you will speak to him and put my words in his mouth; and I will be with your mouth and with his mouth, and will teach you what you will do.
¹⁶And he will be your spokesman to the people; and he will be an interpreter for you, and you will be to him instead of God.
¹⁷And you will take this staff in your hand, with which you will do signs.

¹⁸And Moses returned, and went to Jethro his father-in-law, and said to him, Let me go and return to my brothers who are in Egypt and see whether they are still alive. And Jethro said to Moses, Go in peace.
¹⁹And Yahvah said to Moses in Midian, Go, return to Egypt; for all the men who sought your life are dead.
²⁰And Moses took his wife and his sons, and set them on a donkey, and started on his way back to Egypt; and he took the staff of God in his hand.

²¹And Yahvah said to Moses, When you return to Egypt, see that you perform all the wonders before Pharaoh which I have performed by your hand, but I will harden his heart so that he will not let the people go.
²²And you will say to Pharaoh, Yahvah says, Israel is my firstborn son;
²³and I say to you, Let my son go, that he may serve me; and if you refuse to let him go, look, I will slay your firstborn son.

²⁴And it came to pass when Moses was on his way to the inn that Yahvah met him and sought to kill him.
²⁵Then Zipporah took a flint and cut off the foreskin of her son, and she fell down at the feet of Yahvah and said, I have a bloody husband.
²⁶So Yahvah let him go. Then she said, You are a bloody husband, because of the circumcision.

²⁷And Yahvah said to Aaron, Go into the wilderness to meet Moses. And he went and met him in the mountain of God, Horeb, and kissed him.
²⁸And Moses told Aaron all the words of Yahvah, who had sent him, and all the signs which he had commanded him to perform.
²⁹Then Moses and Aaron went and gathered together all the elders of the children of Israel;
³⁰and Aaron spoke all the words which Yahvah had said to Moses, and performed the signs in the presence of the people.
³¹And the people believed; and when they heard that Yahvah had remembered the children of Israel, and that he had seen their affliction, then they knelt down and worshiped before Yahvah.

¹And afterward Moses and Aaron went into the house and told Pharaoh, Yahvah God of Israel says, Let my people go that they may hold a feast to me in the wilderness.
²And Pharaoh said, Who is Yahvah, that I should obey his voice to let Israel go? I do not know Yahvah, nor will I let Israel go.
³And they said, Yahvah God of the Hebrews has appeared to us; now let us go 3 days' journey into the wilderness that we may sacrifice to Yahvah our God; lest he fall on us with the sword or with pestilence.

2 Exodus 5:4-27
⁴And the king of Egypt said to them, Why, Moses and Aaron, do you cause the people to stop from their work? Go back to your tasks.
⁵And Pharaoh said to them, Look, the people of the land now are many, and you cause them to stop from their work.
⁶And the same day Pharaoh commanded the taskmasters of the people and their scribes saying,
⁷You will not give the people straw to make bricks any longer; let them go and gather straw for themselves.
⁸But the number of bricks which they made previously, you will lay on them; you will not reduce the number; for they are idle; that is why they cry saying, Let us go and sacrifice to our God.
⁹Let more work be assigned to the men, that they may be occupied, so that they may not think to engage in vain conversations.

¹⁰And the taskmasters of the people and their scribes went out and said to the people, Pharaoh says, I will not give you straw.
¹¹Go, get straw for yourselves wherever you can find it; but your work will not be reduced.
¹²So the people were scattered throughout all the land of Egypt to gather the stubble.
¹³And the taskmasters pressed them saying, Complete your work as you have always done, as when straw was given to you.
¹⁴And the scribes of the children of Israel, whom Pharaoh's taskmasters had appointed over them, were beaten, and demanded, Why have you not completed your quota of bricks both yesterday and today, as previously?

¹⁵Then the scribes of the children of Israel came and complained to Pharaoh saying, Why are your servants treated in this manner?
¹⁶There is no straw given to your servants, yet they say to us, Make bricks; and look, your servants are beaten; and you sin against your people.
¹⁷But Pharaoh said to them, You are surely idle; therefore you say, Let us go and sacrifice to Yahvah.
¹⁸Go now and work; and straw will not be given you, yet you will deliver the number of bricks.
¹⁹And the scribes of the children of Israel saw that they were in a bad situation, for it was said to them, You must not reduce the number of your bricks, of your daily task.
²⁰And they met Moses and Aaron standing opposite them, as they came out from the presence of Pharaoh;
²¹and they said to them, May Yahvah look on you and judge; because you have made us to be in disfavor in the eyes of Pharaoh and in the eyes of his servants, to put a sword in their hands to kill us.

²²And Moses returned to Yahvah and said, My Master, Why have you caused this people to be ill-treated? And why did you send me here?
²³For since the hour I came to Pharaoh to speak in your name, he has ill-treated this people; and you have not delivered your people at all.

¹Then Yahvah said to Moses, Now you will see what I will do to Pharaoh; for with a strong hand he will let them go, and by a mighty arm he will drive them out of his land.

²And God spoke to Moses and said to him, I am Yahvah,
³who appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, by the name of God Almighty; but my name Yahvah I did not make known to them.
⁴And I have also established my contract with them, to give them the land of Canaan, the land of their pilgrimage, in which they lived.
⁵And I have also heard the groaning of the children of Israel, whom the Egyptians keep in servitude; and I have remembered my contract.
⁶Therefore say to the children of Israel, I am Yahvah your God, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will deliver you from their servitude, and I will save you by a strong hand and by a mighty arm and with great judgments;
⁷and I will take you to me for a people, and I will be to you a God; and you will know that I am Yahvah your God, who brings you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians.
⁸And I will bring you into the land concerning which I swore to give it to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob; and I will give it to you for an inheritance; I am Yahvah.
⁹And Moses spoke this to the children of Israel; but they did not listen to him, because of their misery and because of servitude.

¹⁰And Yahvah spoke to Moses saying,
¹¹Go in, and speak to Pharaoh king of Egypt that he let the children of Israel go out of his land.
¹²But Moses said to Yahvah, Look, the children of Israel have not listened to me; how then will Pharaoh listen to me, for I am a stutterer?
¹³And Yahvah spoke to Moses and to Aaron and gave them a charge to the children of Israel and to Pharaoh king of Egypt to bring the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt.

2 Exodus 7:15-24
¹⁵Go to Pharaoh in the morning; look, he goes out to his daily duty; and you stand toward him by the river's brink and wait; and take in your hand the staff which was turned into a serpent.
¹⁶And you will say to him, Yahvah God of the Hebrews has sent me to you saying, Let my people go that they may serve me in the wilderness; and look, until now you have not listened.
¹⁷Yahvah says, By this you will know that I am Yahvah: look, with the staff that is in my hand I will strike on the waters of the river, and they will be turned to blood.
¹⁸And the fish that are in the river will die, and the river will stink; and the Egyptians will loathe to drink of the water of the river.
¹⁹And Yahvah said to Moses, Say to Aaron, Take your staff and lift up your hand on the waters of Egypt, on their rivers, on their ponds, and on all their pools of water, and on the streams, and they will become blood; and there will be blood throughout all the land of Egypt, in both vessels of wood and vessels of stone.

²⁰And Moses and Aaron did as Yahvah had commanded them; and Aaron lifted up the staff which was in his hand and struck the waters of the river, in the sight of Pharaoh and in the sight of his servants; and all the waters that were in the river were turned into blood.
²¹And the fish that were in the river died; and the river stank, and the Egyptians could not drink the water of the river; and there was blood throughout all the land of Egypt.
²²And the magicians of Egypt did the same by their enchantments; but Pharaoh's heart was hardened and he did not listen to them, as Yahvah had said.
²³And Pharaoh turned and went into his house, and he did not take to heart even this sign.
²⁴And all the Egyptians dug around the river for water to drink; for they could not drink of the water of the river.

2 Exodus 7:25-50
²⁵And 7 days passed after Yahvah had struck the river.

¹Then Yahvah said to Moses, Go to Pharaoh and say to him, Yahvah says, Let my people go that they may serve me.
²And if you refuse to let them go, look, I will strike all your borders with frogs;
³and the river will swarm with frogs, which will come up and enter into your house and into your bedroom and into your bed and into the houses of your servants and of your people and into your inner chambers and into your kneading troughs;
⁴and the frogs will come up both on you and on all your people and on all your servants.
⁵And Yahvah said to Moses, Say to Aaron your brother, Lift up your hand with your staff over the rivers and over the streams and over the ponds, and cause frogs to come on the land of Egypt.
⁶So Aaron lifted up his hand over the waters of Egypt; and the frogs came up and covered the land of Egypt.
⁷And the magicians did the same with their enchantments, and brought up frogs on the land of Egypt.

⁸Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron and said to them, Pray to Yahvah, that he may take away the frogs from me and from my people; and I will let the people go that they may sacrifice to Yahvah.
⁹And Moses said to Pharaoh, Appoint a time; when I will pray for you and for your servants and for your people, to destroy the frogs from you and your house?

2 Exodus 8:10-19
¹⁰And he said to him, Tomorrow. And Moses said, Be it according to your word, that you may know that there is no one like Yahvah our God.
¹¹And the frogs will depart from you and from your house and from your servants and from your people; they will remain in the river only.
¹²And Moses and Aaron went out from the presence of Pharaoh; and Moses prayed before Yahvah because of the frogs which he had brought against Pharaoh.
¹³And Yahvah did according to the word of Moses; and the frogs died that were in the houses and in the courtyards and in the fields.
¹⁴And they gathered them together in heaps; and the land stank.
¹⁵And when Pharaoh saw that there was respite, he hardened his heart and would not listen to them, as Yahvah had said to Moses.

¹⁶And Yahvah said to Moses, Say to Aaron, Lift up your staff and strike the dust of the land, that it may become lice throughout all the land of Egypt.
¹⁷And he did so; and Aaron lifted up his hand with his staff and struck the dust of the land, and it became lice on men and on cattle; all the dust of the land became lice throughout all the land of Egypt.
¹⁸And the magicians did the same by means of their magic to bring forth lice, but they could not get rid of the lice; so there were lice on men and on cattle.
¹⁹Then the magicians said to Pharaoh, This is the finger of God; and Pharaoh's heart was hardened, and he did not listen to them, as Yahvah had said.

2 Exodus 8:20-23
²⁰And Yahvah said to Moses, Rise up early in the morning and stand before Pharaoh; look, he goes out to his daily duty; and say to him, Yahvah says, Let my people go that they may serve me.
²¹Else, if you will not let my people go, look, I will send the arab on you and on your servants and on your people and on your house; and the houses of the Egyptians will be filled with the arab, like a field when it is covered with them.
²²And I will set apart on that day the land of Goshen, in which my people live, that no arab will be there, to the end that you may know that I am Yahvah in the middle of the land.
²³And I will put a division between my people and your people; tomorrow this sign will be.

2 Exodus 8:24-27
²⁴And Yahvah did so; and he brought a great arab into the house of Pharaoh and into his servants' houses and into all the land of Egypt; and the land was ruined by reason of the arab.

²⁵Then Pharaoh called for Moses and for Aaron, and said to them, Go sacrifice to your God inside the land.
²⁶And Moses said, It is not proper to do so; for we will sacrifice to Yahvah our God some of the animals that are an abomination to the Egyptians. And if we should sacrifice animals that are idols before Egyptian eyes, they would stone us.
²⁷We will go 3 days' journey into the wilderness and sacrifice to Yahvah our God, as he has commanded us.

2 Exodus 8:28-29
²⁸And Pharaoh said, I will let you go that you may sacrifice to Yahvah your God in the wilderness; only you will not go very far, and you must also pray for me.
²⁹And Moses said, Look, I go out from your presence and I will pray before Yahvah and he will cause the arab to depart from Pharaoh, from his servants, and from his people, tomorrow; but do not let Pharaoh deal deceitfully any longer by refusing to allow the people to go to sacrifice to Yahvah.

2 Exodus 8:30-62
³⁰So Moses went out from the presence of Pharaoh and prayed before Yahvah.
³¹And Yahvah did according to the word of Moses; and he removed the arab from Pharaoh and from his servants and from his people; not 1 remained.
³²And Pharaoh also hardened his heart at this time and did not let the people go.

¹Then Yahvah said to Moses, Go to Pharaoh and say to him, Yahvah God of the Hebrews says, Let my people go that they may serve me.
²For if you refuse to let them go, and until now you have withheld them,
³look, Yahvah will strike your cattle which are in the desert, the horses, the donkeys, the camels, the oxen, and the sheep; there will be a very severe plague.
⁴And Yahvah will discriminate between the cattle of Israel and the cattle of the Egyptians, so that none of the cattle that belong to the children of Israel will die, not even 1.

2 Exodus 9:5-6
⁵And Yahvah appointed a set time saying, Tomorrow Yahvah will do this thing in the land.
⁶And Yahvah did that thing the next day, and all the cattle of the Egyptians died; but of the cattle of the children of Israel not 1 died.

2 Exodus 9:6-12
⁶And Yahvah did that thing the next day, and all the cattle of the Egyptians died; but of the cattle of the children of Israel not 1 died.
⁷And Pharaoh sent, and look, there was not 1 of the cattle of the Israelites dead. And the heart of Pharaoh was hardened and he did not let the people go.

⁸And Yahvah said to Moses and to Aaron, Take 2 handfuls of the ashes of the furnace and let Moses scatter it toward the skies in the sight of Pharaoh.
⁹And it will become fine dust in all the land of Egypt, and there will be boils breaking forth with sores on men, and on cattle, throughout all the land of Egypt.
¹⁰So they took ashes of the furnace and stood before Pharaoh; and Moses scattered it toward the skies in the sight of Pharaoh; and it became blistering boils, breaking out with sores on men, and on cattle.
¹¹And the magicians could not stand before Moses because of the boils; for the boils had spread among the magicians and throughout all the land of Egypt.
¹²And Yahvah hardened the heart of Pharaoh and he did not listen to them, as Yahvah had said to Moses.

2 Exodus 9:13-17
¹³And Yahvah said to Moses, Arise early in the morning, and stand before Pharaoh, and say to him, Yahvah God of the Hebrews says, Let my people go that they may serve me.
¹⁴For this time I will send my plague on your heart and on your servants and on your people, that you may know that there is no one like me in all the land.
¹⁵For now I will stretch out my hand that I may strike you and your people with pestilence; and you will perish from the land.
¹⁶But for this cause I have raised you to the throne, to show you my power, and that my name may be declared throughout all the land.
¹⁷As yet you are continuing to detain this people and refusing to let them go.

2 Exodus 9:18-26
¹⁸Look, tomorrow, about this time, I will cause a severe storm of hail, such as there has not been in Egypt from the day that it was founded even until now.
¹⁹Send now and gather your cattle and all that you have in the field; for on every man and the cattle which be found in the field, and will not be brought home, the hail will come down on them, and they will die.
²⁰He who feared the word of Yahvah among the servants of Pharaoh brought his servants and his cattle into the house.
²¹But he who did not regard the word of Yahvah left his servants and his cattle in the field.

²²And Yahvah said to Moses, Lift up your hand toward the skies that there may be hail in all the land of Egypt, on men and on cattle and on all the grass in the field, throughout the land of Egypt.
²³And Moses lifted up his staff toward the skies; and Yahvah sent thunder and hail, and lightning ran along on the ground; and Yahvah showered hail on the land of Egypt.
²⁴So there was hail, and flaming fire mingled with the hail, very grievous, such as had never been in all the land of Egypt since it became a nation.
²⁵And the hail struck throughout all the land of Egypt all that was in the field, both man and cattle; and the hail destroyed all the herbs of the field and broke every tree of the field.
²⁶Only in the land of Goshen, where the children of Israel lived, was there no hail.

2 Exodus 9:27-62
²⁷Then Pharaoh sent and called for Moses and Aaron, and said to them, I have sinned this time; Yahvah is righteous, and I and my people are wicked.
²⁸Pray before Yahvah, for there is yet a chance for forgiveness in his presence that there not be mighty thunderings and hail any longer; and I will let you go, and you will stay no longer.
²⁹And Moses said to him, As soon as I am gone out of the city, I will stretch forth my hands to Yahvah; and the thunder will cease and there will not be hail any longer, that you may know that the land belongs to Yahvah.
³⁰But as for you and your servants, I know that you have not yet feared Yahvah God.
³¹And the flax and the barley were lost; for the barley was in the ear and the flax was boiled.
³²But the wheat and the rye were not lost; for they were sown late.
³³And Moses went out of the city from the presence of Pharaoh, and spread out his hands to Yahvah; and the thunders and hail ceased, and the rain was not poured on the land.
³⁴And when Pharaoh saw that the rain and the hail and the thunders had ceased, he sinned yet more, and his heart was hardened, and the heart of his servants.
³⁵And the heart of Pharaoh was hardened and he did not let the children of Israel go, as Yahvah had sent word to him by Moses.

¹And Yahvah said to Moses, Go into Pharaoh; for I have hardened his heart and the hearts of his servants, that I may perform these signs among them,
²that you may relate in the presence of your son and of your son's son the things which I have done to the Egyptians and the signs which I have performed among them, that you may know that I am Yahvah.

³And Moses and Aaron came to Pharaoh, and said to him, Yahvah God of the Hebrews says, How long will you refuse to fear me? Let my people go that they may serve me.

2 Exodus 10:4-13
⁴Else, if you refuse to let my people go, look, tomorrow I will bring locusts on all your domain;
⁵and they will cover the face of the land so that men cannot see the ground; and they will eat the residue of what is left to you from the hail and will eat all the trees which have budded for you in the field;
⁶and they will fill your houses and the houses of your servants and the houses of all the Egyptians such as neither your fathers nor your grandfathers have seen, from the day that they were on the land even to this day. And they turned, and went out from the presence of Pharaoh.

⁷And Pharaoh's servants said to him, How long will we suffer this disaster? Let the men go that they may serve Yahvah their God; do you not yet know that Egypt is destroyed?
⁸So Moses and Aaron were brought back to Pharaoh; and he said to them, Go, serve before Yahvah your God; but who are those who are going?
⁹And Moses said to him, We will go with our young and with our old, with our sons and with our daughters; with our flocks and with our herds we will go, for it is a festival of Yahvah for all of us.
¹⁰And Pharaoh said to them, Let Yahvah be with you, but when I let you and your little ones go, look to it; perhaps you have evil intent.
¹¹Do not let it be so; go now, the older men, and serve before Yahvah; for it is the rest that you desire. And they were driven out from Pharaoh's presence.

¹²And Yahvah said to Moses, Lift up your hand over the land of Egypt for the locusts, that they may come on the land of Egypt and eat the herbs of the land, even all that the hail has left.

¹⁷Now forgive me my fault this time also, and pray before Yahvah your God that he may remove from me this death.
¹⁸And Moses went out from the presence of Pharaoh and prayed before Yahvah.
¹⁹And Yahvah turned a mighty strong west wind, which took away the locusts and cast them into the Red Sea; there remained not 1 locust in all the domain of Egypt.
²⁰But Yahvah hardened Pharaoh's heart so that he would not let the children of Israel go.

2 Exodus 10:21-22
²¹Then Yahvah said to Moses, Lift up your hand toward the skies that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, even thick darkness.
²²And Moses lifted up his hand toward the skies; and there was a thick darkness in all the land of Egypt 3 days;

²³they did not see each other, nor rose any from his place for 3 days; but all the children of Israel had light in their dwellings.

2 Exodus 10:24-53
²⁴And Pharaoh called to Moses and said to him, Go, serve before Yahvah your God; only let your flocks and herds remain here; let your little ones also go with you.
²⁵Then Moses said to Pharaoh, You must also give us sacrifices and burnt offerings that we may sacrifice to Yahvah our God.
²⁶Our cattle will also go with us; there will not be 1 hoof left behind; for we must take them to serve before Yahvah our God; and we do not know what else we must offer to Yahvah until we come there.
²⁷But Yahvah hardened Pharaoh's heart and he would not let them go.
²⁸And Pharaoh said to Moses, Get away from here, take care of yourself, do not try to see my face again.
²⁹And Moses said, You spoke well, I will not try to see your face any longer.

¹And Yahvah said to Moses, I will bring yet 1 more plague on Pharaoh, and on the Egyptians, then I will let you go from here; when he lets you go, then you must get out altogether.
²Speak now in the presence of the people that they ask every man of his neighbor, and every woman of her neighbor, jewels of silver and jewels of gold.
³And Yahvah gave the people favor in the sight of the Egyptians. Also, the man Moses was well honored in the land of Egypt in the sight of Pharaoh's servants and in the sight of the people.

2 Exodus 11:4-10
⁴And Moses said, Yahvah says, About midnight I will go forth into the middle of Egypt;
⁵and all the firstborn in the land of Egypt will die, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sits on his throne even to the firstborn of the female servant who sits behind the mill; and all the firstborn of the animals.
⁶And there will be a great wailing throughout all the land of Egypt, there has never been any like it, nor will there be any like it any longer.
⁷But of the children of Israel no one will be harmed, not even a dog will bark against man or animals; that you may know that Yahvah distinguishes between the Egyptians and Israel.
⁸And all your servants will come down to me and bow themselves down to me saying, Get out, both you and all the people that are with you; and after that I will go out. And Moses departed from the presence of Pharaoh in a great anger.
⁹And Yahvah said to Moses, Pharaoh will not listen to you; that my wonders may be multiplied in the land of Egypt.

¹⁰And Moses and Aaron did all these wonders before Pharaoh; but Yahvah hardened Pharaoh's heart so that he would not let the children of Israel go out of his land.

2 Exodus 12:1-2
¹Then Yahvah spoke to Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt saying,
²This month will be to you the beginning of months; it will be the 1st month of the year to you.

2 Exodus 12:3-4
³Speak to all the congregation of Israel saying, On the 10th day of this month they will take to themselves every man a lamb for his own house, and a lamb for his father's house;
⁴and if the house is too little for the lamb, let him and his neighbor next to his house take it according to the number of the persons; every man according to the portion of his eating will make your count for the lamb.

2 Exodus 12:5-56
⁵The lamb will be without blemish, a male of the 1st year; you will take it from the lambs or from the kids,
⁶and you will keep it until the 14th day of this same month; and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel will kill it at sunset.

⁷And they will take some of the blood and sprinkle it on the 2 doorposts and on the lintel and on the houses in which they will eat it.
⁸And they will eat the meat in that night, roasted with fire, with unleavened bread; and with bitter herbs they will eat it.
⁹You will not eat any of it raw, nor cooked with water, but roasted with fire; its head with its legs, and the entrails.
¹⁰And you will leave none of it remaining until morning; and what remains of it until the morning you will burn with fire.
¹¹And thus you will eat it; with your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and you will eat it in haste; for it is Yahvah's passover.
¹²For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and all the firstborn of the land of Egypt will die, both man and animal; and against all the idols of Egypt I will execute judgment; I am Yahvah.
¹³And the blood will be to you for a sign on the houses where you are; and when I see the blood, I will make you glad, and the plague will not be among you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt.

¹⁴And this day will be to you for a memorial; and you will keep it a feast to Yahvah, a festival throughout your generations; you will keep it a feast by an ordinance forever.
¹⁵7 days you will eat unleavened bread; and from the 1st day you will put away leaven out of your houses; for whoever eats leavened bread from your houses from the 1st day until the 7th day, that person will perish from Israel.
¹⁶On the 1st day there will be a holy convocation and on the 7th day there will be a holy convocation to you; no manner of work will be done in them; except what every man must eat, that only may be prepared by you.
¹⁷And you will observe the feast of unleavened bread; for on this very day I have brought your divisions out of the land of Egypt; therefore you will observe this day throughout your generations by an ordinance forever.
¹⁸In the 1st month, on the 14th day of the month at evening, you will eat unleavened bread until the 21st day of the month at evening.
¹⁹7 days leaven will not be found in your houses; for whoever eats what is leavened, that person will perish from the congregation of Israel, whether he is a stranger or a native of the land.
²⁰You will eat nothing leavened; in all your habitations you will eat unleavened bread.

²¹Then Moses called all the elders of the children of Israel and said to them, Hurry, take lambs for yourselves according to your families and kill the passover lamb.
²²And you will take a bunch of hyssop and dip it in the blood of the lamb and sprinkle the lintel and the 2 side posts with the blood that is in the basin; and none of you will go out of the door of his house until the morning.
²³For Yahvah will pass through to strike the Egyptians; and when he sees the blood on the lintel and on the 2 side posts, Yahvah will bring joy to the doors and will not permit the destroyer to come into your houses to strike you.
²⁴And you will observe this rite and this ordinance for yourselves and your sons forever.
²⁵And it will come to pass, when you come to the land which Yahvah will give you, as he has promised, you will observe this service.
²⁶And it will come to pass when your children will say to you, What is the meaning of this service?
²⁷You will say, It is the sacrifice of Yahvah's passover, who brought joy to the house of the children of Israel in Egypt when he struck the Egyptians and delivered our houses. Then the people bowed their heads and worshiped Yahvah.

²⁸And the children of Israel went away and did as Yahvah had commanded Moses and Aaron.

²⁹And it came to pass that at midnight Yahvah slew all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sits on his throne to the firstborn of the captive who was in the prison; and all the firstborn of cattle.
³⁰And Pharaoh rose up in the night, he and all his servants and all the Egyptians; and there was a great wailing in the land of Egypt; for there was not a house where there was not 1 dead.
³¹And Pharaoh called Moses and Aaron that night, and said to them, Rise up and get out from among my people, both you and the children of Israel; and go, serve Yahvah, as you have said.
³²Also take your flocks and your herds, as you have said, and be gone; and also bless me.

³³And the Egyptians urged the people, that they might get them out of the land of Egypt in haste; for they said, We will all die.
³⁴And the people took their kneading dough before it was leavened and their cold kneading dough wrapped up in their mantles on their shoulders.
³⁵And the children of Israel did according to the word of Moses; and they borrowed of the Egyptians jewels of silver and jewels of gold and clothing;
³⁶and Yahvah gave the people favor in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they lent to them whatever they asked. And thus they stripped the Egyptians.

³⁷Then the children of Israel journeyed from Rameses to Succoth, about 600,000 men on foot, besides the little ones.
³⁸And a mixed multitude also went up with them; and their flocks, and herds, and many cattle.
³⁹And they baked on a griddle unleavened bread of the dough which they had brought forth out of the land of Egypt, for it was not leavened, because the Egyptians drove them out. They could not make it into flat loaves, nor had they prepared for themselves any provisions for the journey.

⁴⁰Now the temporary residence of the children of Israel, who lived in Egypt, was 430 years.
⁴¹And it came to pass at the end of the 430 years, on this very day, that all the divisions of Yahvah went out from the land of Egypt.
⁴²It was a night to be observed to Yahvah for bringing them out of the land of Egypt; therefore this very night is to be observed to Yahvah by all the children of Israel throughout their generations.

⁴³Then Yahvah said to Moses and Aaron, This is the ordinance of the passover; no foreigner will eat of it;
⁴⁴but every man's servant who is bought for money, when you have circumcised him, then he will eat of it.
⁴⁵An alien and a hired worked will not eat of it.
⁴⁶In 1 house it will be eaten; you will not take any of the meat outside of the house nor will you break a bone of it.
⁴⁷All the congregation of Israel will keep the feast.
⁴⁸And when a stranger will stay with you, who would keep the passover to Yahvah, when he has circumcised every male in his house, then he may draw near to take part in it; and he will be considered as a native of the land; for no uncircumcised person will eat of it.
⁴⁹There will be 1 law for the natives and for the strangers who stay among you.

⁵⁰Thus all the children of Israel did; as Yahvah had commanded Moses and Aaron, so they did.
⁵¹And it came to pass on that very day that Yahvah brought the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt with all their divisions.

¹And Yahvah spoke to Moses saying,
