America's Covert War with Iran

Newt Gingrich ciculated a memo in the United States Congress in October 1995 suggesting the United States should overthrow the government of Iran. Newt's idea was accepted and on December 31, 1995 the Congress secretly passed a funding appropriation that committed $18 Million for the cause. The Goat was now attacking the Ram's second horn.

Background

The account in Daniel about the Persian Gulf War suggests that there is more that will happen beyond what we know of today as the Persian Gulf War. More happened, beginning in October of 1995 when Newt Gingrich circulated a memo around Congress that the United States should overthrow the government of Iran.

Congress is not such private place to circulate such a memo, so thinking that he could start a private war was probably a little bold, but try Newt did and on December 31, 1995, Congress in a secret spending authorization allocated $18 million for the CIA to wage a covert war with the goal of overthrowing the government of Iran.

At this point the west was now financially committed to war with Iran, Daniel's second horn, the Persians.

Since it was a secret authorization, only 535 members of congress and their various staffs knew what was going on. Funny thing, 7 days later the Iranians responded. A response we look at next.
