Jesus Before Caiaphas, Will Come With Power

This scene of the trial finds two direct references to time. The first, mentioning the time until Jesus’ return, is the reference to the "3rd day" rebuilding of the Temple. This is the action Jesus will be part of at his return. The second is Jesus’ prophetic reference to his return in power from the sky. Both of these hit the prophetic era of 13001 AA. Jesus cannot return until the millennium, this is the earliest possible indicated year. (2010 AD)

Notes

At the start of Jesus’ ministry he went to his home town. The crowd listened, but then wanted to throw him down the cliff at the edge of town. See Hour 6 for the start of this story. Ministry Day in question is 432.

Matthew (P) Mark (P)

41 Matthew 26:57-68
57And those who had arrested Jesus took him to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders had assembled.
58But Simon Peter followed him from far away, up to the courtyard of the high priest, and he went inside and sat with the soldiers, to see the end.
59Now the high priests and the elders and the whole council were seeking witnesses against Jesus, so that they might put him to death.
60But they could not find any; then a great many false witnesses came; but at the end, 2 came forward,
61and said, This man said, I can tear down the temple of God, and build it in 3 days.
62And the high priest stood up and said to him, You are not answering anything. What is it that these men testify against you?
63But Jesus was silent. Then the high priest answered and said to him, I adjure you by the living God, to tell us if you are the Messiah, the Son of God?
64Jesus said to him, You say that. But I say to you, that from now on, you will see the Son of man sitting at the right hand of the power, and coming on the clouds of the sky.
65The high priest then tore his clothes and said, Look, he is blaspheming; why do we need witnesses? Look, now you have heard his blasphemy.
66What else do you want? They answered and said, He is guilty of death.
67Then they spat in his face, and struck him on his head, and others beat him,
68saying, Prophesy to us, Messiah, who struck you?

42 Mark 14:53-65
53And they took Jesus to Caiaphas the high priest; and there, gathered to him all the high priests and the scribes and the elders.
54But Simon followed him from far away, up to the courtyard of the high priest; and he sat with the servants, warming himself before the fire.
55The high priests and the whole council were seeking testimony against Jesus, so that they might put him to death; but they could not find it.
56For even though many testified against him, their testimony was not worthy.
57Then some men who were false witnesses, stood up against him and said,
58We heard him say, I will tear down this temple which is made with hands, and in 3 days, I will build another which is not made with hands.
59But even this testimony was not worthy.
60Then the high priest stood up in the middle, and asked Jesus saying, Do you not answer? What do these men testify against you?
61But Jesus was silent, and made no answer. Again the high priest asked him saying, Are you the Messiah, the Son of the Blessed One?
62Jesus said to him, I am; and you will see the Son of man sitting at the right hand of power, and coming on the clouds of the sky.
63Then the high priest tore his robe, and said, Why do we need witnesses?
64Look, you have heard blasphemy from his own mouth; what do you think? And they all decided that he was guilty of death.
65Then some of the men began to spit in his face, and they covered his face and struck him on his head saying, Prophesy; and the soldiers struck him on his cheeks.

Peter’s Denial

This story follows textually Jesus’ appearance and note to the Priests that they will see him coming with power and glory. It may be coincident with the previous story. The point is that after Jesus returns there will be weeping for those who have denied Jesus. The "rooster crowing" is likely an expression dealing with watches. The end of the 3rd watch and the end of the 4th watch are in view. Each of the denials being an hour or so. This story likely happened outside in the courtyard while Jesus is inside talking to the Priests about power.

John (P) Matthew (P) Mark (P) Luke (P)

40 John 18:25
25Now Simon Peter was standing and warming himself. They said to him, What! Are you also one of his disciples? He denied and said, I am not.

41 Matthew 26:69-70
69Now Peter sat outside in the courtyard; and a female servant came and said to him, You were also with Jesus the Nazarene.
70But he denied it before all of them, and said, I do not understand what you are saying.

42 Mark 14:66-67
66And when Simon was below in the courtyard, a young female servant of the high priest came;
67and she saw him warming himself, and looked at him, and said to him, You were also with Jesus the Nazarene.

43 Luke 22:54-58
54And they arrested him and brought him to the house of the high priest. And Simon followed him from far away.
55And they kindled a fire in the middle of the courtyard, and sat around it; and Simon also sat among them.
56And a young woman saw him sitting by the fire, and she looked at him and said, This man also was with him.
57But he denied saying, Woman, I do not know him.
58And after a little while, another saw him and said to him, You are also one of them. But Peter said, I am not.

Peter’s Denial

Matthew (P) Mark (P) Luke (P)

41 Matthew 26:71-72
71And as he was going to the porch, another one saw him, and she said to them, This man was also there with Jesus the Nazarene.
72Again, he denied it with oaths, I do not know the man.

42 Mark 14:68-69
68But he denied it and said, I do not understand what you are saying. Then he went out to the porch, and the rooster crowed.
69And the same young maid saw him, and began to say to those who stood by, This one is also one of them.

43 Luke 22:58
58And after a little while, another saw him and said to him, You are also one of them. But Peter said, I am not.

Day/Year Passion Replay

At this date US President Obama departed for an 8 day trip to Asia, including stops in Japan, Singapore, China and Korea.

The flight across the ocean is the fulfillment of the return.

The President met with leaders from around the region in Singapore, but the unusual meeting was with Russia's Medeved. This is a match to meeting with Peter.
