26 Psalms 5

1Give ear to my words, Yahvah, and consider my meditation.
2Listen to the voice of my cry, my king and my god; for to you I pray.
3My voice you will hear in the morning, Yahvah; and in the morning, I will prepare myself and see you.

4For you are not a god that has pleasure in wickedness; nor will evil live with you.
5The proud will not stand in your sight; you hate all workers of iniquity.
6You will destroy those who speak falsehood; Yahvah will reject the bloody and deceitful man.

7But as for me, I will come into your house in the multitude of your mercy; and I will enter into your house and worship in your holy house.
8Lead me, Yahvah, in your reverence and righteousness; and because of my enemies, make your way straight before my face.

9For there is no justice in their mouth; there is wickedness in them; their throat is an open sepulcher; they deceive with their tongues.
10Condemn them, god; let them fall by their own counsels; cast them out in the multitude of their wickedness, for they have provoked you.

11But let all those who put their trust in you rejoice; they will glorify you forever, and you will live among them; and all those who love your name will be strengthened by you.
12For you will bless the righteous; Yahvah, you have adorned me like a perfect shield.

Verses 1-3: The timing of the Psalm, about 4 hours before sunrise, seems to be captured in the opening part of the Psalm, in the morning, at the start of the last watch (which would be 3 hours before sunrise.)

Verses 4-6: On the ground the Israeli army began to encircle Gaza City, with continued air bombardment of suspected Hamas facilities across the strip. Media outlets in the western world were generally supportive of Israel, even though the fight is technically lop-sided.

Verses 7-8: The Pope Called for Prayer in all houses of worship across Israel. He also called for an end to the fighting.

In Cairo, Hamas sent a delegation to a conference to begin cease fire discussions. This was a change in stance after refusing to hold any talks with Israel up to this point. This is the outworking of the Pope's call.

Verse 9-10: 3 Israeli soldiers were killed by friendly fire, another 24 injured. This is specifically mentioned in the Psalm, falling by their own counsel, or their own actions or fire. No similar event has happened so far, and this is the first reference to this sort of thing in the Psalm.

Notes

This plague aligns with an Exodus Plague.

For that plague the Pope make a prophetic departure from JFK airport in NYC. Most of the United State's leadership was present in the room. That departure, and those people in the room, is visible in the text of this Psalm.

The Pope's departure for Rome is seen in verse 7. Note that St. Peter's Basilica is a the last of the 500 year, 10-fold Jubilee, temple reconstructions, that began with Jacob's dream of a ladder to heaven.
